Georgia Tech Mechanical Engineering professors Greg Sawicki and Aaron Young are committed to helping people regain or improve their mobility with the help of wearable robotics. Sawicki and Young's lab is equipped with state of the art measuring equipment including motion capture technology, in-floor force plates, an adjustable treadmill, and a hydraulic stair and ramp setup that can be adjusted as needed to test their devices. Along with the prosthetic lower leg the research group is working on a knee exoskeleton for children with cerebral palsy, a hip exoskeleton for stroke victims, and an ankle device for aging adults that restores spring to their step.
